This pond is called "Jumbo Pond."
On the final day Dunlop Phoenix Tournament in 1994, the legendary scene of professional golfer Masashi Ozaki, also known as Jumbo Ozaki, was born here.
With his third consecutive win and his annual prize money exceeding 200 million yen at stake, he entered this hole with a one-stroke lead.
The tee shot goes into the pond.
However, the ball bounced off the water and miraculously came to rest on top of the fountain.
He calmly got out of a desperate situation with a bogey, then finished with a birdie on the final 18th hole, and achieved a stunning comeback victory!
