"Environment" - Sustainability at PHOENIX SEAGAIA RESORT
"GHG reduction" "Maintaining the surrounding environment"
Conservation of the black pine area / Conservation of the beach area / Reduction of environmental impact
In the "Environment" section, the themes are "GHG reduction" and "maintenance of the surrounding environment."
We will work on "preserving the black pine area," "preserving the beach area," and "reducing the environmental burden."
This includes not only reviewing the cleaning and amenities provided to guest rooms from the second night onwards, but also utilizing vegetable scraps from the restaurant.
We are also involved in the protection and cultivation of Black Pine Forest and beach cleanup activities at Hitotsuba Beach.

We are currently converting all hotel lighting to LED, including in guest rooms, corridors, and restrooms. We also conduct thorough maintenance to extend the lifespan of equipment, leading to greater energy efficiency.

We have placed energy conservation stickers and information about reducing environmental impact in all hotel rooms. (More guests are turning off the air conditioners and lights before checking out.)

We offer eco-friendly transportation options within the resort, such as bicycle rentals, jogging and walking maps, and course guides.

We have begun considering converting our company vehicles to electric vehicles, and are also working to increase the number of electric vehicle charging stations within the resort.

As part of our environmentally friendly efforts, we have installed separate trash bins, and for guests staying multiple nights, we have made room cleaning, towel changes, and amenity replenishment all available upon request.

In an effort to reduce plastic waste, we have replaced guest room amenities with biomass-based products, and have also changed products such as plastic bags used in restaurants and shops.

Lettuce scraps generated during cooking at Pine Terrace and unused bread are donated to Miyazaki City Phoenix Zoo as food for the animals.

At Pine Terrace, we are working to reduce food waste by dividing food into smaller portions and providing smaller tongs so that large amounts are not served at once.

A specialized team is carrying out conservation activities for Black Pine Forest, including aerial spraying of chemicals, trunk injection, and felling of dead pine trees. We also regularly plant black pine trees in areas where pine wilt disease has occurred.

Starting in September 2024, we will begin introducing toilet paper made in part from waste paper generated within the resort. Recycling waste paper will help secure forest resources and reduce CO2 emissions.

To ensure that loggerhead turtles can lay their eggs safely at Hitotsuba Beach, we regularly carry out beach cleanups to pick up driftwood and illegally dumped trash. (Note: We also invite the general public to participate in the spring cleanup.)
