The phrase "Awakihara in Odo, Tachibana, Hyuga, Tsukushi," which you always hear during religious ceremonies, refers to this very place, which is said to be the birthplace of purification rituals. This shrine enshrines Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto, the oldest deities in Japan.

This ancient shrine has long been worshipped as the god of the sea and the god of safe navigation, and its crest, which features the character "moto" surrounded by a circle, is said to be the symbol of the original Sumiyoshi shrine, of which there are over 2,000 throughout the country.

There are many Ichiyo pines with only one needle (usually there are two needles) scattered throughout the temple grounds. This is the origin of the place's name Ichiyo. If you look around the temple grounds, you will find a single pine needle among the branches, and it is said to bring good luck if you find one.

Plants that evoke the feeling of a tropical resort adorn the vast 18,000m2 site, allowing the sunlight and breeze of Aoshima to pass through comfortably throughout the day.
The facility includes an all-day dining restaurant called "LDK," which consists of a restaurant and a BBQ area, and serves food and drinks according to the time of day, with Miyazaki's specialty beef steaks as its signature dish.In addition, in the adjacent BBQ area, you can enjoy a BBQ in a stylish tent on the beachfront.

This beautiful park is filled with wild cherry blossoms in spring, about 1,300 Yoshino cherry trees, and 50,000 azaleas. Below you can see the Oyodo River flowing through the center of Takaoka Town, as well as Miyazaki City and the Hyuga Sea in the distance. The park also houses the Jokaze Historical Museum, where you can spend the whole day relaxing and learning about history.

At the Aya Equestrian Park, a horse riding club located in Aya Town, where the breeding of racehorses and farm horses was popular, you can easily enjoy horse-leading and riding experiences.
From late March to early April, approximately 1,300 cherry trees bloom in full glory around Bajikoen.

The Saitobaru Burial Mounds are home to a flower garden of approximately 8 hectares spread across the vast burial mounds. The approximately 800m cherry blossom avenue features approximately 2,000 cherry trees and 300,000 rapeseed flowers, creating a stunning contrast with the burial mounds. Enjoy the spectacular scenery that can only be seen at this time of year. The Miyazaki Prefectural Saitobaru Archaeological Museum is also located within the burial mounds, and there are valuable materials that you can touch, making it a fun way to learn about history.

Takachiho Gorge is a gorge that was formed by the pyroclastic flows from the volcanic eruption of Mount Aso, creating beautiful cliffs with columnar joints. It has been designated a national scenic spot and natural monument. There are many shrines in the surrounding area that enshrines gods associated with Japanese mythology.

This park is located in Nobeoka City and uses the ruins of a castle built by the first lord of the Nobeoka domain. 250 cherry trees have been planted in the park, centered around the 19m-tall "Thousand-Killing Stone Wall," which is said to be able to collapse and kill a thousand enemies if its cornerstone is removed. In spring, the cherry trees bloom in full glory, enveloping the ruins of Nobeoka Castle and Shiroyama Park.

Takachiho Ranch is a tourist ranch located at the foot of the Kirishima Mountains. You can enjoy interacting with animals that have been raised freely in the great outdoors, as well as dining and shopping. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom within the park, allowing you to relax in the warm weather.

The vast park grounds are packed with play equipment and facilities that will keep you entertained all day, including Miyazaki Prefecture's only Ferris wheel, Kyushu's longest slide, boats, go-karts, chairlifts, a grass ski slope, a campsite, and more. The park is also known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, with approximately 5,000 cherry trees decorating the park in spring.

Obi flourished as a castle town until the early Meiji period. In spring, Obi offers beautiful scenery, with cherry blossoms adding color to the samurai residences and elegant stone walls. The scenery of Obi Castle Town, where cherry blossoms bloom everywhere, including along Otemon Gate Street and in various places within the castle grounds, is a beauty that can only be experienced in this season. Enjoy the scenery while "eating and strolling around the town."

Located at the southernmost tip of Miyazaki Prefecture, Cape Toi juts out into the Pacific Ocean, where Misaki horses have been bred in the same way for around 300 years since the Edo period. These purebred native Japanese horses have been designated a national natural monument. Spring is birthing season, so you might even be able to spot some cute spring foals.

Miyazaki City Phoenix Natural Zoo is a place where you can encounter 1,100 animals of about 90 species, including Asian elephants and Masai giraffes, Chilean flamingos where you can watch a graceful show by about 70 birds, goats that perform a grand parade, and squirrel monkeys with adorable expressions. You can feed the small animals, ride the many amusement park rides, and have fun all day with your family or friends. We highly recommend it for a trip during the holiday season!

Enjoy swimming and marine sports
Located about a 10-minute walk from SEAGAIA FOREST CONDOMINIUMS, Sun Beach Hitotsuba is the only artificial beach in Miyazaki Prefecture. Many people visit the North Beach on the north side for marine sports, and the South Beach on the south side for swimming. Equipped with toilets, showers, a green plaza, parking, and more, the facility is perfect for picnics and playing in the water all year round, not just during the summer swimming season.

According to the Kojiki, Misogi Pond is the place where Izanagi no Mikoto performed a purification ritual upon returning from the underworld. The gaping hole in the pine forest is still covered with pure water, and from May to September, the pond is covered in approximately 4,000 water lilies, adding a touch of mysticism to the area.

The East Garden is surrounded by bright pine forests and evergreen broad-leaved forests, and is home to Misogi Pond, the setting of the myth, and Eda Shrine, located at the end of a walking path.The West Garden is home to plum, camellia, and iris gardens, where you can enjoy flowers of all seasons, and the Iris Festival, held every year from mid-May to early June, attracts many visitors from inside and outside the prefecture.

AOSHIMA BEACH PARK is a bright and open space created by Aoshima's beautiful beach. Enjoy a tropical food and drink menu and relax in the pleasant sea breeze.
Starting in April 2022, AOSHIMA BEACH PARK will be open all year round. From spring to summer, summer to autumn, and winter. With a variety of scenery to be found throughout the four seasons, Aoshima Beach Park has transformed into a place that blends seamlessly into everyday life.

Located a 30-minute drive from SEAGAIA, this beach has been selected as one of the 100 best swimming beaches in the prefecture. In the summer, it is bustling with activity as one of the prefecture's best swimming beaches. In addition to swimming, it is also famous as a spot for marine sports such as surfing and stand-up paddleboarding!

Aoshima Shrine is the setting for the famous myth of Urashima Taro and Yamasachihiko, and is said to be a good place for finding love, as it is also the place where Yamasachihiko and Toyotamahime were united. There are many items on the shrine grounds that are likely to bring luck in love, such as heart-shaped votive plaques, objects, and love fortune-telling slips, and searching for hidden hearts, such as the heart-shaped "boar's eye," is also popular among tourists.
Nowadays, many people pray for happiness through the "Sanrei-kami-ne" ritual, in which they tie different colored strands of paper depending on their wishes to the "Fufu-bay palm" trees that tower close together, and the "Ten-no-hira-kan-nage" ritual, in which they throw earthenware plates into the rock boundary while muttering their wishes.

The shallow, crystal clear emerald green sea overlooks an isolated island directly in front of you. It is also known as a base for marine sports such as scuba diving. Another attraction is the fact that you can easily enjoy snorkeling and sea kayaking. Sakaematsu Campground is also located next door, so even if you don't have a tent, you can easily enjoy camping by using the permanent tents.

From Horikiri Pass, head south for about 30 minutes by car, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You will arrive at Futo Beach, with its white sandy beach and white rest building. Washingtonia palms line the beach, creating a tropical atmosphere.
Nearby are Udo Shrine and Sun Messe Nichinan, making it a great tourist destination and one of Japan's 100 best swimming beaches. In 2011, the Ministry of the Environment selected it as one of the nine beaches in Japan with particularly good water quality.

Florante presents the Autumn Floral Festival, a festival of autumn flowers. Autumn is the season when the colors of flowers and leaves become intense and vivid. In the spacious garden, you can see flower beds filled with colorful autumn flowers such as salvia, celosia, cosmos, and marigolds. In addition, the popular photo spot "Autumn Flower Train" will be appearing in the Community Square.

A shrine dedicated to the first emperor, Emperor Jimmu, affectionately known as "Jinmu-sama" by the prefecture's residents
This shrine, which enshrines the first emperor, Emperor Jimmu, as its main deity, was founded over 2,000 years ago. As Emperor Jimmu's parents, Ugayafukiaezu-no-Mikoto and Tamayorihime, are also enshrined here, there is a constant stream of worshippers who come to pray for safety in the home, safe childbirth, and fertility, as well as victory and safety on the roads.
The approach to the shrine, lit by lanterns, has a mystical atmosphere, and just walking there makes you feel as if your mind and body have been purified.
It is also a popular first shrine visit spot, with over 250,000 visitors visiting every year during the first three days of the New Year.

One of Miyazaki's most powerful spots, where Japan's oldest married deities are enshrined

Enshrining Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto, Japan's oldest deities, the shrine is visited by many worshippers praying for good fortune. One of the two sacred trees, a large camphor tree located halfway along the approach, has a knob at its base that is said to grant good fortune, and many worshippers have touched it and found it smooth.

The entire island is a power spot, a sacred shrine surrounded by Oni no Sentakuita (Devil's Washboard)
Aoshima Shrine is located almost in the center of Aoshima, Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture, and its grounds cover the entire island, 1.5km in circumference. Widely known as a power spot for love, it attracts many couples and female worshippers from all over the country. There are many places to see and make wishes, such as the "Ancient Prayer Path," a tunnel made of votive plaques, and the Couple's Bench.
