Udo Shrine (Nichinan City)

Udo Shrine is affectionately known as "Udo-san" by locals.
This unusual shrine has a vibrant vermilion-painted main hall enshrined in a cave at the tip of Cape Udozaki, which juts out into the Pacific Ocean. It is famous for its "lucky ball," which is said to grant wishes if you enter it into the square-shaped rock formation known as Kameishi.
In addition, the approach to the shrine offers beautiful ocean views, and the views of the sunrise and sunset over the majestic Pacific Ocean are truly impressive.
